Hafod Church - Illustrated Talk

Illustrated Talk by Rob Wilson-North, Head of Conservation and Access Exmoor National Park Authority, Somerset Called: Cousins and Connections. The grandfathers of Thomas Johnes of Hafod and John Knight of Exmoor were brothers. From an extraordinary family, each man set about the creation of a great estate with determination and innovation: one in the wild mountains of west Wales, the other in a bleak wet moorland in south west England. But for both men, despite the roles of their remarkable wives, fate ultimately proved unkind. This is the story of how John Knight transformed Exmoor and in telling that story it points at the similarities of his adventure with Thomas Johnes’ great landscape at Hafod.
